MayCrisis?
In Chinese, the word for “crisis” means “danger plus opportunity.” I wish people better knew how to embrace this definition. Instead, the word provokes so much fear and angst that we’re almost paralyzed into inaction; incapable of taking the first step toward relief. I think of all the varied types of crisis. Family crisis. Personal crisis. Financial crisis. We’re even in the midst of a pirate and swine flu crisis. But if we knew how to turn destruction into power, danger into opportunity, then maybe we wouldn’t be so inhibited by our problems. We would relish them, replace the fear of the unknown with curiosity.
